Hi,
Thank you for your response. I understand how we can calculate the directionality. Sorry, I was not clear before, I am trying MEA in the free mirroring experiment. we instruct people to mirror each other’s hand movements and then with the help of MEA we calculate lead/lag or synchrony between them. but the problem we are facing is it does not matter if the two people are exactly mirroring each other or not even if they are doing any random hand movement together (not mirrored) MEA calculates it as synchrony.
I am trying to follow one paper in which they have calculated the Z non-absolute value and refer to positive values as in-phase synchronisation and negative values as anti-phase synchronisation-

Also, I am reading your paper in which you have calculated the speed of the movement. it would be really helpful if you can guide how I can calculate the speed of the hand movements of the participants by using MEA.
